The Floating Fashion Parade

The deco for Floating Fashion Parade was screenprinted in water-based inks on linnen. The graphic design expressed meeting of cultures in 'de Baarsjes' neighborhood of Amsterdam. A traditional, yet timeless Arabic geometric pattern was printed in UV light reactive colors, merging with a figure emersed in the sea of music; reflecting, floating in conscious and subconscious states. A cut-up writing technique was used to create a SciFi love poetic proze, finally shown on both sides of the mirror.

For the Dutch Arabic music and dance event, the task of dressing the main stage was executed in a screenprinting technique on linen. On natural shades of off-white, beige and orange, the print was made in cobalt blue color, evocative of its traditional use in both Dutch and Arabic arts. The beautiful traditional Arabic geometric pattern was chosen for its timeless modernity as well as optical effect. Under the stage light, star forms pulsated following the dynamics of music.

De Kunst van het Samen Werken

De kunst van het Samen Werken De kunst van het Samen Werken De kunst van het Samen Werken De kunst van het Samen Werken De kunst van het Samen Werken

For the Dutch Agricultural project, the task was to transform the "Witte Paard" room of the Efteling. The existing symbol of the horse was the ideal chocie to work with. The horse symbolizes vital powers, love, devotion and the land itself. Text created with a cut-up technique, returned to the theme of the congress - unifying, and formed silouet of the horse. Printed on transparent fabric, the curtans were set in the room in pairs, and light fabric moved adding to the dynamics of the graphic. Ultimately the symbol expressed unity of all things, and as we in growing crops cast our eyes on the skys, the horse stands again in its mythical symbology - as mediator between Earth and Heaven.

Kunstgras

The Kunstgras event was primarily a networking event. Beautiful netted forms of a microscopic view of different plants were used to express this theme. While much of our society is based on an animal organization, there is remerging awareness of vegetable mind - hence the collective - partnership style of social organization.
A large cellular motive was printed on linen panels, and for the events crew, a finer cellular pattern was printed in UV ink on the sleeves. The choice of neutral tones for the backgrounds and the artificial green shades for the print, returned to the word-play in the events title and the work of other artists. UV coloration in the events staff members sleeves, was helping the audience to recognize them and communicate in this complex multi-happening event.
